The hailstones that I picked up around 3:30 AM on July 7. Over half an inch of rain in about 10 minutes with some hail thrown in to make it interesting. Fortunately the hail wasn't too damaging.

I hope Ruth's crops made it and the flowers too. I hate when something like that happens.
catching up on all your posts. that's pretty cool that andrew was in that play! he would be super good at that. your fishing trip looks like it was a blast. that fish was bigger than any of my 5 kids I had at birth!!! the biggest one (Caleb) was 8 pounds 5 oz... Looks like Ruth is a serious gardener! looks very nice. Didn't realize we got that hail, didn't get it in the city
I was just about to ask about mom's flowers and read the answer here. That hail is incredible. I'm surprised we haven't had any here. We've had perfect rains, unlike other parts of TX.
Born in 1948 (so I am a baby boomer) I remember living in a house that had kerosene lanterns and a wood stove and water had to be hauled in. In the winter it was easier because we simply had to bring in snow and melt it!

A number of flowers made it but the flowers on the tomato plants weren't so lucky.
