Several people commented on my wearing of sandals all winter. Some asked me what I did when I came to a snow drift. I replied laconically, "I am wearing my snow sandals."
Actually, the feeling of cold snow against the feet is similar to snow on warm hands. It is refreshingly cool at first but the water quickly vaporizes and the feet dry off quickly. I wonder if it is similar to taking a snow bath after being in a sauna. That I haven't tried. Posted by Picasa

Uncle Ian,
You have taken a snow bath after being in the hot tub though. I have the pictures to prove it!

I am sorry, but I never ever will understand why Canadians feel the urge to go out in WINTER TIME with SANDELS.

It's below 20°C there and you walk around like summer time. I have no clue why you do that.

I think the real answer is because you can.

Are you finding blogging to be good for your students and for yourself? Why is it a course requirement? What is the learning outcome?

For me it is like the sandal thing ... because I can. It was a shorts day today btw. 6 business days to my new position :)
