Ruth and I are in Stratford in front of Anne Hathaway's childhood home. We took a tour of the house and were amazed at the funiture that had survived for up to 400 years. The thatch roof, of course, has been replaced. There are still skilled craftsmen who still do this kind of roof. However, it is very expensive and to protect it from birds and squirells they cover it with a wire mesh. During Sakespeare's time the yard would not have been as nice since this was a successfull farm and chickens, cows, horses, pigs and dogs would have occupied the yard you would have had to be careful where you stepped.

That's a really beautiful house and garden. That showes me how Northern Ireland might look like. I am looking forward to hear more about your England trip.
I look forward to all the albums... hehe.
Thanks for the link to Wes & Roberta's blog
Hi Ian:
You told me to leave a comment, so I'm leaving a comment. "Update your blog!"
Seriously though, my parents and I were in Stratford about 18-20 years ago when we brought Holly back from her mission trip in Belgium. Stratford was an interesting and beautiful place to walk around. We toured Anne Hathaways' cottage too.
Nice to see the picture and then "walk" down memory lane.
