September activities

• I built another raised planter and all that is left now is to add the topsoil (which we just had delivered last Friday). 

• Comfort Brewer is learning to drive, and I am helping her practice before her driving test. 

• Dave Patterson took me flying again and I took a picture of Stan and Maxine Bell's home from the air and also one of our place from the air. 

• As I was cleaning out the garage, I found a couple of hand prints under a mat. I thought that if I show those two that I better include Angela's hand print which was outside the garage.

Fall harvest 2012

I like this time of year because of all the fresh fruits and vegetables that taste so much better than what one can get from the store. This is an orange bell pepper that Ruth grew from a seed. We have had asparagus, red and purple potatoes, yellow and green beans, peas, carrots, beets, kohlrabi, purple and green cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, beefsteak and Romaine tomatoes, onions, green pepper, parsnips, raspberries and corn is on the way. 

We have had a wonderfully busy summer.

1.   I added a pump and filter and solar heater to our pool and we had several warm days to enjoy it.

Dinasaur Park, AB and Victoria, BC

 Ruth and I drove to Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta where we found some dinosaurs. From the left Peter, Duff, Ian, and Archie MacLeod.

 After driving home to Saskatoon, we flew to Victoria, BC to visit my cousin Jess Bailey. Sheena drove us to a WhiteSpot Restaurant where Ruth felt outnumbered! Jess and Sheena live in a ground level suite in Andrew, Aura and Aiden's place in Langford..

 We convince Aiden to go on a walk around Thetis Lake. It was only five miles around but because of playing tag on the way, we probably did 10 miles.

Flying with Dave

Dave Patterson took me up in his Cessna 170 Saturday evening June 16. We were up in the air about one and a half hours and we did a semi-circle around Saskatoon and then flew over our acreage to the south and then went north to the Borden bridge before heading back to Saskatoon. 

We also flew over Moon Lake which is near the Berry Barn and Pike Lake.

It is raining

 It is raining so I thought that I should post a few pictures. Ruth and I attended Kristie and Joe Pradzynski's wedding and a few people showed up in traditional dress.




Ruth's relative (a first cousin once removed) came to visit so we took her to a few places. We went for a walk along the S. Sk. River in downtown Saskatoon. I took a picture of her holding the hand of the statue of John Lake with Chief Whitecap which is on the Mewasin Trail. We went to the Royal SK Provincial Museum and we went to see the tunnels in Moose Jaw.
