India firsts

The Hotel Nakshatra has on the second floor lobby area a miniature Hindu shrine. One can find them all over India and most business places of any size and many educational institutions like universities will have a shrine. When we walk by this one going down the stairs, we often smell incense burning. The next picture is a family that we visited where they have started a small orphanage. They don't have a lot of space so they use the outdoors sometimes for their living-room.

At the Kalipani Bread of Life School I found four strands of rusty barb wire laying strewn over part of the playground. So I rolled it up with my bare hands and put it to the side by a fence.
I promised a picture of the elephant that we saw walking down the freeway so here it is.

Good job Ian...feeling lonely not having to clean up my garbage and take it away!!

You need to ride one of those elephants!

@Sharon: I don't think that I will feel lonely...too many people around! Also, I don't think we'll find time for an elephant ride since we have a pretty full schedule.
