July Events

July 24 we went to the Saskatoon Inn for the brunch buffet where Imogen found a giraffe and a big stone to sit on. Isaac showed his humorous side by sticking a spoon on his face. Andrea had her mother, Madeline, and her Aunt Danny from Germany. Saturday morning I finished putting the siding on the three seasons room. Later we drove to Danielson Park for a picknic where Imogen got to play in the sand. In the parking lot picture: Andrew, Ruth, Jennifer, Imogen, Andrea, Isaac, Madeline, Danny. I was in Kiwanis Park at "A Taste of Saskatchewan" and Lyle Mason mentioned that Bob Rae was talking to a group of about five people a short distance away. So I asked Lyle to take a picture and went up to Bob and asked if it was okay to get a picture with him. He said it was okay and as I was shaking his hand I asked him if this was the gathering of the Liberal convention! He stopped shaking my hand and didn't laugh. He did thank us for dropping by though.

Three Season Room finished!

To celebrate the arrival of Andrea's mom and aunt and to celebrate John and Jenn's 7th Wedding Anniversary we had 13 people out for Sunday dinner. Ruth cooked a fabulous meal and I got to barbeque salmon steak on a cedar board. It tasted great if I say so myself!

Three seasons room

I put in a marble tile floor in the three seasons room on the deck. The room is about 12 ft X 20 ft so it was an arduous task for an amateur.

Fort Qu'Appelle visit

We went for a walk on part of the Trans-Canada Trail in Fort Qu'Appelle. Ivan took his bike and Dominique and Emora rode in a wagon for the most part. We saw some pelicans and various other birds as well as were awed by the amount of water that was flowing by. Dominique is quite the acrobat and is able to stand on my hands or walk on a sideways tree.

Second last day of work!

I am standing by about twenty boxes and two bins full of garbage. There are another ten boxes of books and about ten boxes of saved stuff that will be moved. Accumulation of about twenty-five years of teaching and most of it is redundant. As I was sorting through I noticed that most of the material is available through the internet.

Tree planting

It is probably a good time to plant a tree since we got so much rain.
